#SpotlightOnSunday

Okay it was about 7 weeks ago that I started the hashtag #SpotlightOnSunday . The point of the hashtag was to highlight actors of color in hopes to encourage others to support their projects so that more can be produced.

To start things off my first feature was the talented, lovely actress Jurnee Smollett Bell that currently stars on the WGN America original series, Underground. For the original post featuring Jurnee Smollett Bell click here

I followed that post with Mehcad Brooks. He can currently be seen on the CBS hit series Supergirl as James “Jimmy” Olsen. To view original post feel free to click here

The third #SpotlightOnSunday feature was Sonequa Martin-Green who can currently be seen on the AMC mega-hit show The Walking Dead (based on the comic of the same name by Robert Kirkman). Martin-Green plays former firefighter Sasha Williams on the TV series. The next #SpotlightOnSunday to post was Tristin Mays (who like the 2nd feature Mehcad Brooks) can most recently be seen on Supergirl. Mays may be known from either Nickelodeon children’s show Gullah Gullah Island or more recently on The CW hit show The Vampire Diaries. To read the original post for Tristin Mays you can click here

Reagan Gomez was the next feature for #SpotlightOnSunday. Many may know her from The WB show Parent ‘hood. She has grown up and has started creating projects of her own which is an admirable and inspiring feat. To view the original post featuring Reagan please feel free to click here

The most recent feature for #SpotlightOnSunday was the talented Giancarlo Esposito. Giancarlo was most recently seen in the 100th episode of the ABC hit series Once Upon A Time where he reprised his as Sidney Glass aka The Magic Mirror. If you’d like to read the original post on Giancarlo Esposito feel free to click here

Okay. This is the part where I announce this week’s feature for #SpotlightOnSunday

I am proud to announce it’s the very talented and charming Michael B. Jordan. He can most recently be seen in the latest film in the Rocky series Creed.  To read the full and original post regarding Michael B. Jordan please feel free to click here

It is highly encouraged that if anyone has their own actors of color they’d consider to be their #SpotlightOnSunday feel free to tag them on social media if they have one or even feel free to mention them any way if they don’t and also feel free to use the hashtag #SpotlightOnSunday .

Let me know what you think. Feel free to drop a comment, share this post or tweet me on Twitter  @fairly_literary
